Vista Counseling & Wellness: Meet Brenna
About Me: Brenna Pezo, Owner/LMHC @ Vista
Hey There! Welcome to My Corner of the Web
Hi! I’m Brenna Pezo, and I’m so glad you’re here. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re curious about mental health, counseling, or maybe just about who I am. Maybe you’re looking for a new therapist and stumbled across this page. Either way, get to know me a little bit here!
My Counseling Style: Laid-Back, Compassionate, and Real
Life has it’s peaks and valleys, and sometimes we need someone to talk to who we feel safe with. That’s where I come in! My style is all about creating a comfortable, judgment-free zone where you can be yourself. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, feeling down, processing trauma, or just need someone to listen, I’m here to help you. Or maybe you don’t know what you’re dealing with, you just know you don’t feel your best.
I like to think of myself as your mental health guide—someone who supports you while you gain clarity, someone who nudges you in the right direction to reach your goals, and someone who challenges you to grow.
How I Got Here: A Quick Peek at My Journey
My path to becoming a counselor started with my own mental health struggles as a teenager/young adult. Through the healing power of fitness, nature, community, and the guidance of an incredible therapist, I found my way forward. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida, where I dove deep into the intersection of trauma, addiction, and outdoor therapy.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing people—teens figuring out life, people getting sober, adults navigating major life transitions, and people wanting to dive deep into the trauma they experienced.
After years working in hospitals, community outreach programs, and treatment centers, I created Vista Counseling and Wellness: the private practice of my dreams.
What It’s Like to Work with Me: Relaxed and Down-to-Earth
When you come to a session with me, expect a laid-back vibe. We’ll talk, identify what direction you want to head in, and what is making it hard for you to get there. Depending on your needs, we might:
Try EMDR Therapy to process disturbing memories or experiences.
Practice Mindfulness Techniques to help regulate your emotions and body.
Go Outdoors for a “walk & talk” session, combining fresh air and movement with meaningful conversation.
Who Do I Work With?
I specialize in working with adults who:
Have experienced trauma or feel “off” and want to understand themselves better.
Feel dysregulated in their body or held back by negative self-beliefs.
Are exploring sobriety or seeking support in their sober journey.
Want to build a healthier lifestyle through movement, nutrition, and wellness.
Me Outside Of The Office
Not shockingly, as a therapist I’m huge on work/life balance. I love working with my clients, and I also love spending time with my family and having fun. Lately I’ve been into checking out new and unique food spots in Orlando, trying to find nature trails locally, and consistently moving my body. I’m pretty much always planning a fun trip somewhere (upcoming is a snowboarding trip), and when I’m not traveling, I love being a homebody with my husband, daughter, and two adorable dogs. As someone who has experienced mental health struggles, I am determined to live my life to the fullest now!
Let’s Chat!
So, if you’re ready to take that next step, I’m here for you. If you’re waiting for a sign to start therapy, consider this your sign! Thanks for stopping by, and remember: you don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone. I’m here to help you find your way.
All the best,
Brenna Pezo
